Hi All, just installed a double LED light strip on my 2014 on the right side rear of the cargo area. HUGE improvement in lighting vs the small cargo light, which I also converted to an LED. Tapped off this light by soldering connection wires that than ran under interior molding to the top where the light strip is held on with double stick tape. Simple clean, took less than half an hour.

Hate to revive such an old post, but what's the best way to get behind those panels? I'm thinking of putting an overhead light by sticking an LED board to the top-center latch connector on the roof. I want to snake the wire into the roof through the latch connector and down through the panels. I need to pull three panels back to get it around to the cargo light. Anyone have any suggestions or a video handy?

Those panels remove easily. I used some plastic pry tools made for automotive panels that I got as Harbor Freight that were under $10.00. They will pop right off or move enough to get a wire to. The only place back there that has a hot connection for a light is at the small cargo light on the right interior panel. There are no good hot connections at the rear hatch. NONE! I had all the panels off and tested everything. Don't waste your time. The lights that are back there are likely on some kind of relay. I soldered my wires directly to the cargo light, after replacing that blub with an LED. That light strip I used is great, very BRIGHT and lights up the entire back. I got that on-line at either Amazon or DX.com. If you order from DX try and use their US warehouse. If it comes from China it can take weeks to months.

Thanks. I never planned on going to the hatch, just straight down to the cargo light. I thought about doing a strip, but I didn't want to use the adhesive right on the roof so I'm trying to stick to the plastic areas. I'll post some pics when I finally get around to doing it.

Those are great lights, I have them also, I was going to use one panel on the exterior hatch for night use, when I have mountain bike on the hitch rack to light up the rear area of the vehicle. As mentioned above I could not find a good hot connection. Oh and there is hardly any metal back there for a good ground. Me an a buddy must have spent 3 hours trying everything to hook those lights up.
