Picked up an LED bar on closeout recently. Was opting for single row but this one was too good to pass up.
Got the bumper off and both mounting options currently leave the bar angled slightly upward.

I have no idea what these brace things are formally called, but am considering partially sanding or cutting the two middle ones to add a recessed area for the LED bar to angle downward. The red lines are where I intend to cut if I can't powersand at least an 8th inch.

How would others approach this?

Rather than cutting notches into those ribs and potentially creating weak points that could fracture all the way through these support features in your bumper, I would reposition or remake the brackets so that the light bar can be adjusted to the angle you're looking for. I can't see for certain all the mounting possibilities to eliminate the interference to your desired angle adjustment but maybe adding spacers between the brackets and the bumper will lower the bar just enough so you can rotate the adjustment further downward. Mounting the bar on the center horizontal rib instead might work better but I can't tell for sure if it would even fit right with the brackets you have. Do whatever works best to get the look you want but I would avoid cutting those support ribs.

Ah ribs, so that's what they're called. Thanks for that!
I didn't cut them, but did scoop/hollow out the middle two to match the width of the outer two on part of the upper half.
That's enough room to angle the bar now while retaining the ribs still in place.
