Last week I hung out with Mike, Goodyq45. Thanks again Mike for showing me the things to look for when shopping for a Q. Anyways he told he the trouble he was having finding replacement seats, and the cost (1100 a seat) to get them recovered so I thought I would start looking for options in case I was looking at Q with bad seats.

Has anyone tried these guys.http://leatherseats.com/

It looks like they can do some pretty slick things. Anyways it looks like they can do covers for the whole car for around 900.

Anyways thought I would throw this out and see if could help some people.

Interesting. The only thing for me is my rear seats are like new. I think most of us are concerned about the front seats. How close to OE can they get since I only really need the front they would have to match pretty close to the rear. My front are still good but after all these years they are getting worn. If I would do this I want it to look good.

I have talked with them and they say they think you should do all the seats. This is because over the years the back seats have faded and will not match. They will however sell just the front covers if that is what you want, however it is more then half as much so its a better deal to get the whole set

You could have the worn surfaces redone at a local upholstery shop for $300-$700 with labor.

The place Mike went to said 1100 a side thats why I started looking at other options.

Also depends on how bad your seats are. I found a place that would replace 1 panel on my 850 Volvo Turbo seat for 250.

They said they could get it close to matching but due to fading it would be hard.

Plus after 12 years the seats are worn all over I think replacing them all would be great, especially with all the custom options they have such as two tone, periforated, heated and massage.

Looks like they have done group buys on other forums

5 people 10% off10 people 15% off20 people 20% off

Just another option for those trying to totally rehab thier Q.

That does make more sense for my situation.

But leatherseats.com is a nice option for someone who has the interior trashed.

Have no personal experience, but a lot of the vintage Cadillac/Imperial etc. boards recommend this outfit:

Prices look decent there too. However I dont see our model listed only the G20, so you may have to send in your covers as a template, unless of course your live close

I was going to order the OEM leather from Scottsdale Inf. and take it to my local auto upholstery shop.

BTW I saw the steering wheel wrap on the site. Anyone know a way to get the OEM material without buying the whole wheel?

I didn't know you could buy the OEM leather separately... have you confirmed this? My understanding is that you had to buy a whole segment of the seat (bottom, top, headrest, armrest, etc.)

As far as the steering wheel, I think they only sell the whole wheel.

I think the leather was about $600 for the front seat.

Call Scottsdale Inf. 888 468 7070.

Available on a piece by piece basis - no package or kit. Extremly costly and suggest other souces. From the people in AZ.

There are many places to buy leather repair kits and covers, etc...The question is how much are you willing to spend? I priced up some leather covers in the past (not for the Q) and it always came back in the thousands.

Here are some known companies:

http://www.gahh.com/ and http://www.gahhinc.com/leatherseatcover ... overs.net/ and http://www.nwautoleather.com/interiors.html

and there's plenty more.

Each time I come across a junk Q, I harvest the good parts of the leather. I recently had my armrest reupholstered with it. Matches perfectly too.

Also, the leather seat cushioning from a passenger seat can transferred to a driver's seat, at least that's what Q45tech stated. I'm now on the lookout for a good gray leather pass seat for early G50 (driver's is almost impossible to find in good cond.) All I need is the cushioning.

I'm with you Drew, I'd search the salvage yards if there were any up here that had Qs. No leather is better than the original inmy opinion. You just gotta to get a hold of some stuff before it gets into the wrong hands

You've got it the worst. I've never even seen a white leather Q much less one in the junkyard in clean good cond. Hope your seats are in good cond... you'd better be loving it like a fiance.

You're right. If any one is coming to carlisle I am bringing a spare tan passengers seat from a 94. The leather is really nice. I also have a seat bottom from another. I just want to get rid of them. I may just give them to a nico buddy!

I condition my leather seats every 2 months and keep the car quite clean. The seats are in nice shape, but I would love to have a spare set. One person I know had a beautiful interior in FL that was beige and tossed it in the trash, because no one bought it. He held on to it for a year.

$511 isn't bad. I mean, its a lot in the context of an old Q45's worth, but not too shabby compared to professional upholstery.

Only downside is DIY, but its more time consuming than difficult.
