Thanks for the information!! I can't believe I didn't think of a upholstery shop. $400...was that for both seats? The side trim facing the passagener and vice versa for the passagener seat is exactly what is peeling on both of my front seat. My armrest on the driver's door is peeling badly also. They want $192 from the dealer to replace it, but I might get that repaired also. I'm installing LED interior/license lights in my car next week so I need to get the seats fixed asap.loystock wrote:In Y33, the seat is a mix of leather and vinyl. On the driver side, the side trim on the seat and backrest are all vinyl as well as the rear portion of the seat. They are the ones that really get worn out. I've had mine repaired and re-colored by a leather seat professional for @ $400. All of the vinyl sections were replaced. The re-coloring perfectly matched the other seats.

I understand where you are coming from about the money and all, but I'm not about to put vinyl in my car. I love my car to much to downgrade. Good thing is that I'm blessed with a great paying job out of college and money really isn't an issue. Not saying I'm going with the most expensive price, I still want to get a couple of prices in my area and pay for leather.Romeo5k wrote:im not lying..... Id just give up and go to a nice chop shop, and have em redo my seats with the smae color, but just vinyl.. i know a guy who did my olds mobile front seats for 250.... Im my climate, leather is hard to keep up if your car isnt under a garage. If its parked outside that 102F sun will eat up ur leather.!
LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOLLLLLLL!!! You are right though. I really can't/won't put vinyl in my car.qship96 wrote:Vinyl? talk about a downgrade! fine for a crappy oldsmobile, but inappropriate for a Q45-cheap,nasty,non-breathing ball sweating garbage that even is extinct on honda civics and other entry level cars today Ghetto-fabulous!
I would be very interested in where you got leather seat covers and how much they cost. Thanks1990QOwner wrote:I would say that it is normal for an older car. The seats on my G50 started doing that a long time ago, I just got some nice leather seat covers and they work nice.
