just to add my own humble opinion....just cleaned the inside of my Q for the first time(for me). was very impressed with meguires vinyl cleaner, MUCH better than armour all-gives the inside that "i just coated it with crisco" look. as opposed to meguires, that has a more "brand new", not wet look. very clean!!! the look that every car should have. also impressed with the zymol leather cleaner and conditioner(seperate products). also a very clean, not greasy look. maybe just my opinion, but what i prefer. had about 5 people sit in the Q over the weekend, all couldn't believe she was more than a year or two old, one owned a brand new focus and said the Q looked better. not bad for a car over 13 years old!!!! jeff

My GF and I used the Lexol C&C on her cream interior (I30)and it did wonders. The cream interiors show dirt REAL bad and dirt gets in all the leather pores, but the cleaner pulled it all right out and looks new.

The best leather conditioner I've found is used on horse riding saddles. Can't remember the name of it, but if you have a saddle shop around town, stop in and get some of their leather products as they got the dizzo!

\my GF goes horsebak riding and says that it is the best! makes it last forever...

Besides shocks and spark plugs, that is on the top of my list of things to do.

Here's an email reply I received from http://www.leatherseats.com. I found them on another forum (Lexus I think). People there seemed happy with their product. Maybe worth giving a try? My drivers seat is REALLY worn. Prices seem too good to be true.

We are delighted to see that you are interested in our products andservices. We do have the pattern you seek... we can build you a leatherinterior for your Q45 for $779.00 + shipping. This price will include FREEtwo toning in any of our 50+ colors. Shipping is generally about $25.00 perkit.

These covers are OEM spec and are made to install in place of yourfactory seat covers. Once installed they will look just like the factoryleather seat covers. We sell an installation kit that includes the hog-ringpliers, hog-rings, and the super-adhesive upholstery glue for $35.00.

Be sure and visit our website at http://www.leatherseats.com for in depthinformation on the product, applications, colors, and even installationprocedures. FYI I've also tried Leatherique because so many people have RAVED about their product BUT I don't see what all they hype is about. Leatherique claims that their product will soften "even cardboard hard" leather. Well after multiple treatments to our Q's front seats (used as directed by Leatherique) I have yet to see any significant improvement! Same goes for my 400e MBZ (which BTW has SUPERIOR leather to the Q's - but I should say its is one of the FEW things that is better than the Q). Yet others swear by it.

My experience has been that Q leather seats are coated somehow and that keeps the preservative from being absorbed. The steering wheel and shift knob soak it up just fine, but not the seats. I treat them anyway, but am skeptical about how effective it is.

i got mine done at a place called advanced mechanics, in plano. they send their stuff out to a guy once or twice a week. my doorpanel is quite worn down too, and discolored where the previous owner put their elbow. they quoted me 270 for the door panel cause they would have to replace it. we decided not to at the time cause thats expensive, but i may get it done in the future if i decide i care 270 for it. -marty

I have found that the leather does not absorb any conditioner, due to it being coated also, the best product I have found to protect it is 303 aerospace protectant, with a spf of 40,and full metal Formula One window tint, which blocks 99% of uv rays from hitting the leather, vinyl, and carpeting.long live the last real q45!

We cover ours April-September whenever we park it between 9AM and 4PM. My wife takes a lot of guff from her buddies, but it protects against door nicks too.

pimpingurz - try Pete's Auto Upholstry, might also be under Pete's Auto Top. It's a small shop on Pico just west of La Cienega. I've been going to him for a variety of interior issues. He is very honest and fair and has a contact for vinyl work as well. Can't find his info at the moment but when I do I'll post it.

For all those in Souther California who wants their leather re-done.I recommend Mario's upholstery on Melrose, Hollywood.IT will run you about $400-500 depends on how bad the seats are. great work.

EQlipse, the car is black with a grey/black interior just like you mentioned. I can take pics of all the interior parts you're looking for if you like.

hey...im looking to replace the backseat in my J and i found a guy parting out his black/black J. He said $50 for the seat....thing is...he wants $130 for shipping. Does this seem rediculously high? Package would be no more than 20 pounds. Its 5ftx2ftx3ft. If anyone has shipped anything around that size let me know what the price is. Paying nearly 3 times as much for shipping than the product is really crazy.

j30t - Check http://www.forwardair.com

If there's a station near him and near you, it's $40 flat fee for anything under 80 pounds.

once you get the leather replaced, use ZAINO to clean and condition the seats. it leaves a nice matte sheen on the seats without the oily/slimy mess that ther products leave behind. and the smell doesn't linger too long to make you sick. just enough to freshen things up.

I bought the leatherique Rejuvenator and they gave me the Pristine clean free for being a Infiniti club member

I have only done one application but what a differnce it has made. They state that multiple application will be needed but so far I am impressed. Much more than lexol. Lexol felt like it only lasted a day with regards to feel.

The car is actually more comfortable to sit in

nothing i try works...maybe its because the car hasnt been garaged at all and the seats are hardened from constant sunlight?

Did you try rejuvenator?

I still have hard spots, but they are softer and I plan on doing at least two more applications or until I run out of Rejuvenator

I will post again in a few days after I apply again
