Anyone on ideas to clean bleach out of the seat? I think it has soaked into the bottom cushion and I"m going to try to get some more water on it today.

Leaky "house wash" bottle got me good yesterday. Believe its either bleaching the seat out or actually eating away the leather.

Ruined an almost brand new App State hat as well.

It sucks.

OMG...that is awful. Maybe call an upholstry shop and see what they recommend? Or a dry cleaner??

If it has already bleached out the color, maybe an uphostry shop can dye it back to the original color. SUX. I hate to have to carry stuff like that in my car.

Yeah, already have plans for a new hat and will be using the old one to work on cars/yard.

Mellow Mushroom is supposed to be opening back up in a new location, but nothing set yet.

Saturday was also football fanfest, wished I'd made it up.

I'm also going to be on the lookout for someone parting out a G35 for a replacement seat if possible to find at a decent price.

I asked an ex-murderer friend who knows about cleaning stuff in cars...
he said a teeny bit of sunflower seed oil, glycerin, dash of salt, dipentene(or non-chlorinated solvent) and water along with regular leather cleaner. It might help, it might not.

I'm going to try some leather cleaner tonight, if it doesn't help any I'll get crazy.

Found a set of seats in VA, but I'm not rich.

Eew...that does look like the color is bleached out. Check into having it dyed. That would be a lot cheaper than new seats!

I have a nice LSU hat for anybody that needs a good hat. GEAUX TIGERS!!! :yesnod

There actually is very little leather there, the light color is actually the foam under the seat cover.

For now just browsing CL/Ebay/Junkyards hoping to find a seat.

I have a LSU shirt that's enough.

All it would be doing is dying the foam, there is very little of the actual leather cover left. It ate away at the perferated holes.

Go to an upholstry shop and get an estimate on replacing just that part of your seat. It shouldn't cost too much. Wear your LSU shirt....you might get a better deal. :naughty:

Don't carry crap like that in your car again. :nono:

I had an old S13 redone in leather, was $1200, so figure finding replacement seats will be the easiest/cheapiest.

I just weat the LSU shirt for playing sports/working around the house. App State shirts have a lot more pull around here.

Have to carry it in the car, just going to check the caps and take it out of the car immediately after getting home.

Have actually contacted the guy in VA, just trying to get the passenger side, but if its a good enough deal I could use the base for the driver's side (mine was cracked and welded).

Good luck.

I carried a dogwood tree home in my Z28 once. Took the T-top out and had about 4 feet of tree sticking out of the roof. :chuckle: Boy did I get some stares. Saw my neighbor and yelled at him "Who needs a truck?"

Yeah, if I get them they'll have to go in the S13 Convertible, I'll take the passenger seat out and fit them in there somehow.

Look like I may go get those other seats this weekend, if so then I'll have my old set for sale for cheap or to part out if anyone needs anything.

Anyone hauled seats in their G? My Vert doesn't have cruise working so think I'm going to try to fit the 2 seats in my G Coupe, that should be interesting game of Tetris.

After 12+ hours in my car to pick up the seats yesterday I have replacements. 2 G seats fitting into a G coupe for hauling is interesting.

Did notice that the bleach went through the seat and bleached a spot on the rear floormat, but luckily its just the mat and not the carpet. No hurry to replace it.

i am glad youve almost got this nightmare wrapped up. I have looked around to try and find a new carpet kit for my car. I do not need it now, but i would replace the entire carpet in the event that it ever gets really bad. has anyone found such a thing?

biggie: where would you recommend getting the floor mats from? I wanted a new set for myself. Floor mats are reproduced so much its hard to find the best quality ones.

If you remember I had a similar issue with a rear seat being "eaten away" in the wifes car. Cost about $140 with the Infiniti dealer to have the leather replaced.

Everything I'd ever seen said that the dealership wouldn't sell the sections of leather separately, so would cost me a lot more.

I picked up the replacement set for 450 and selling the old ones for 200, should be good deals for all involved.

Weird. My dealership called in their "leather guy" who took the seat to his shop and replaced it. It was a perfect match.

Probably was something aftermarket and not done through the dealership then. You were probably lucky your dealer has an outside source.

Good news from my replacements seats is replacing the driver's rail (which the dealership only will order the whole setup, $900+).

If anyone is interested in the other ones, apparently can be used in S-chassis and in Sedans, with modifications.

How is the leather on the driver you are selling? My driver's base is tearing a little on the left side.

The driver's seat leather is almost perfect, just a little wear on the outer edge near the recline lever from getting in and out. Can get detail pics if you need. There are some overall shots in that FS thread I linked.
