If unsold cars at the dealership are doing this you would think they would be prompt to fix it. Who want's to buy a new car that seems like its already been used? I sure wouldn't...wochka wrote:Very interested in finding out more about this. Went to the dealership today, who will still not fix the armrests (I've now noticed they are ALL coming up). At the dealership I even saw unsold cars that had the armrest material coming up.
Perhaps their glue is not strong enough for my hot, humid, TX weather.
The dealership has at least agreed to take pictures and send them to Nissan to see if they will authorize a repair. Either way, I'm mad that I've had to fight this hard just to get basic things on this car fixed.
Thanks! The General Manager showed no interest in seeing this unsold car with the same problem. He just said he would get his service guy (or whoever) to take pictures of my car on MondayCodelicious wrote:

Good luck on your fight with the dealership. I hope you come out on top!
Also could you maybe post up a picture so we all have an idea of what you are talking about?
Wow, sounds like you might be in a tight spot with that problem. Good luck anyways and let us know the outcome of the situation.wochka wrote:YThanks! I will post pictures up soon. Of both my car, and the brand new one on the lot.
Nope, the dealership insists that i tore it up. I'm fighting it though and the General Manager is going to take some pictures and try to get approval from Nissan.iluvmyVersa08 wrote:Wow. That sucks. I hope that does not happen to mine. The dealership will not fix it for you under warranty?
That sounds more reasonable than just heat and humidity. None of our Versas are garaged, and my daughter and I work in SC where it gets to the upper 90's with plenty of sun throughout the summer. Neither of us have seen this problem in our two and three year old Versas.wochka wrote:It looks like the vinyl was cut too short.
You might not want to try and glue it yourself because if you glue it and than it doesn't work when Nissan inspects it they are gonna be like, "Hmm where did this glue come from?" and than BAM! Voided warranty.technicolorskies wrote:It's just a temporary fix, but when I get some time within these next few days, I'm going to take some fabric glue to the armrest. If this doesn't work, then it's off to the dealer for me.
That's cool. You're both invited to the next meet in September! Have her sign up right away along with yourself, we're looking forward to have a Cube in the club.technicolorskies wrote:Yeah I thought about the warranty thing, but I went against it. I work 6 days a week and I just don't have the time or energy to deal with the dealership and a door panel that might eventually have the same problem. Fabric glue worked like a charm though. I did the credit card trick and then put some glue down in the crack. When I try to pull on the armrest material, it doesn't budge. Looks like it's stuck for good. I'll get some pictures up when I get the chance.
And yeah, I got your email. Sorry man! I've been meaning to respond but my schedule has been crazy as of late. It's looking like I won't be able to meet up with you on that day unfortunately. I'll be out of town for work for a couple weeks. My girlfriend just bought a Cube though, so that would have been nice to bring along. Maybe the next meet!
yes they did but the main factor is does the door panel fabric matches the sl seat fabric if not then they installed wrong panels if so then factory has done something else to alleviate the problemwochka wrote:Well, I'm wondering if their "fix" for the bad SL armrests is just to replace them with the standard armrests. I am right that the SL had extra padding in the armrests, right?
