I've become a little bit dissapointed w/ my standard cloth interior... When I first bought the car, it seemed very high quality and really comfortable. Now that's its had six months of wear, it just seems average,, fairly comfortable and fresh and clean and all that.

Curious if anyone is happy/unhappy w/ the leather interior? Does it get crazy cold in the winter and extremely hot in the summer though? That wouldn't be too much fun,,

thx!

about the cold in the winter - two words, SEAT HEATERS - when on, the seat heaters heat the seats about 10 times faster than it takes for the warm air to come through the vents. and when on "hi" heat you could almost scramble an egg so...my leather is comfortable and i'll prolly never go back to cloth. i'm a pretty slim guy and the leather is great. when cornering i don't slide around on the leather like some cars because the back of the seat wraps your lower back pretty snuggly. my 97 mustang gt had the leather option and the factory seats were pure crap. had me sliding all over the place when cornering. so far... all of my passengers have mentioned the snuggness and comfort of the seats in my car. well the front at least.

I agree with 08altima35.Here in Northern Alberta it gets very cold, like -40 celcius with the wind chill, and those heated seats are amazing. As for the leather being hot in the summer,i`ll let you know in 6 months. All I know is that I will never go back to cloth seats.

Agree with the above, heated seats are figgin awesome, but to be honest the OEM leather seats aren't that great of quality, I comparing that to my old Z...but they are adequate and tey do fit your back quite nice.

Definitely a nice feature, but leather isn't everyones cup of tea. I think it makes the interior of the coupe a bit more "classy" and finished. The heated seats are nice

Yes, BUTT, I have a heated leather seat question...

My drivers seat is getting a permanent "BUTT IMPRINT" from my right butt cheek (no kidding, don't know why it's just the right). There is an indentation in my seat, oddly enough on the right side only, that is from, well, my right butt check. No wise cracks here (speaking of butt cheeks) I am serious about this...Maybe I will have to post a picture? (Of course, of the car seat....)

I asked the dealer about this "BUTT CHEEK IMRINT" and he said, "You using your heated seat option much?" I repleid, "Yea, use it all the time, I love it!" He said, "Well, that happens due to the heated seat." So I'm thinking, great...

Anybody else getting the perma butt cheek imprint that doesnt want to go away with heated leather seats? I'm thinking I only got 2000 miles on this seat, whats it gonna look like after 20,000 miles? Or 50,000 or 80,000?

(Hey Robert, you getting my emails????)

david,

nope, haven't gotten any emails... also, I sent you one this morning, but I had the wrong email address... you should have it now...

In regards to the butt cheek imprint, it's only happening on the right... my guess is because that's where I keep my wallet. Do all of you guys keep your wallet in your right back pocket also? I thought it was just me, but it's probably everyone... once again, the leather seats are nice, but definately not without their shortcomings!

thx for the responses to my original question

and the laughs :P

I'm thinking that on my next car I will spend the extra $$ for the better interior,, right now I feel like I'm driving a fairly expensive car (the v6) with a so-so interior. probably should go all-out next time :]

Couple other ideas: some cars offer 'ventilated' leather seats.. meaning they are heated in the winter, and a/c in the summer. also, would be cool if the next Nissan offers cloth again, but a really high-quality stitch,,, like hmmm probably the next Mitsu Evo will do. you know what I mean, the colorful stitched racing seats?

pc, you could always trade your Altima in and grab a G37... I sat in one at the San Diego auto show and D*MN those things are beautiful! Also, they have the perforated leather seats!

if you go with the Katzkin leather covers, can you some how get the little heaters in the seats so you'll have heated leather seats like the premium package?

Possibly, you'd need several parts to make that work. Switches, the heating element itself, the wiring etc. Also, most leather kits are installed over your existing cloth interior, I would imagine you would need to remove that all together to install the heating element and LEAVE it off.

glad you mentioned that greyzone cause yes, i'm having the same thing happen. almost looks like the leather in wrinkling on the right side. maybe it's time us a/c drivers did away with a wallets and moved on the the "MAN PURSE" which from what i hear is very popular among the metro sexuals.NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN! !!! !I'll just have to get used to my wallet mark on my seat or put my wallet in the console when driving.

Are people having the seat squeaking problem with leather seats too? Also I noticed the head rest poke you in the back when you push against them.

wow, multiple right-side-perma-butt-cheek-imprints-in-heated-leather-seats...hmmmm. And my wallet is in my left front pocket, so it's all butt cheek imprint damage for me.

I guess the foam in the seat is getting "heat shaped"...kinda like that bed, what do they call it, form fitting? Oh well...least it's happening to all of us from the sounds of it. That's a weird one.

Actually heres the wierd one...When I was at the dealer I asked him about it as we were standing outside my car, by the open drivers door. He then bends down and starts to run his fingers over the indentation, feeling the seat right in the heart of the butt print...it was like, dude, thats from my a$$, what the hell are you feeling it for? I was like

All he had to do was look at it, but no, he had to reach out and touch it, run his fingers back and forth over it a couple times, caressing the leather, like somehow feeling would tell him something. Now, that's fricking weird. Kinda made me back up a few steps. Like the commercial says...dude!

I hear you on the right side butt imprint. Happened in my last coupe (~5000 mi) and is starting in the coupe I got as a replacement. Don't carry a wallet, I just blame it on leaning my weight towards the right side because of the shifter and the gas peddle.

As for leather seats...I will never go back. They make the car look so much more classy. As for the heat, just get the windows tinted and put a sun shield up when you leave it in the parking lot. The cold is easily overcome by the heated seats.

This is really funny... I had a mustang with cloth seats (i picked the cloth over their plastic leather)... And i always keep the $$$ in the back right..... Anyways, i have a really slim wallet (coach moneyclip)... and i have been having back problems... (im 25)... I put together a list of things that ive changed since my back started hurting.... The car is one of them.. and the seat is firmer than the stang... It affects my back now! (along with sitting on a beanbag chair playing xbox 4 hours a day)....

I keep it in the cupholder now. or in the top part of the middle console with my altoids lol

So the whole right cheek imprint was bothering me so much that on the 45 minute drive home for work I leaned on and flexed my left butt cheek to try and make both sides even... wonder if it'll work.

OMG! This topic just cracks me up...

I was tripping on it too when I was driving today, paying attention to how my weight was distributed, and, well, it's mostly on my right side, so I was like, trying to balance it a bit, but thats just not natural, so I just gave in to the right cheek lean..hahaha, Yea, I got a Nissan with form fitting leather seats!! Yea baby!!
