What is the best cleaner to use on my leather seats in my 2006 Infiniti M35? Currently, I am using Maguire's wipes.

I really like Zaino's leather cleaner (order online).

A good (more available) alternative is Lexol (brown bottle, PepBoys carries it).

I've never been much for Maguire's products, and I'm a bit of a "product snob" that way.

Welcome aboard, Evan!

Don't forget to condition the leather after you clean it.

Another alternative to the Lexol (both the cleaner and then the conditioner) that I normally use, is Leatherique ... I have the bottle and keep meaning to find the time to try it out.

Also a VERY good product.

Not sure how it is on today's "processed" leathers, but it's great on old european cars.

I have had good luck with leatherique using a combination of their rejuvenating oil followed by their pristine clean. In my experience you use about 1/3 more volume of cleaner than oil.

Which leather cleaner/ conditioner will actually bring out the original leather smell and not cover it up with the products perfume scent? That's what I would prefer.

Also, what products have been known to be safe on the plastics and interior pieces? Infiniti order me two front interior door panels due to both of them peeling already..... go figure...........The funny thing is, I've never used any products in the interior of my car yet. Cheap plastic dyes I guess!

Take a look at the gold colored Leather New product on the left. Its a saddle soap and cleans very well. My leather is black in the M and the other cars as well, so I get off pretty lucky compared to the tan leathers. It soaps up very well, but make sure you follow it with a conditioner. I like Meguairs Leather Cleaner/Conditioner (somewhere in the pic). It has always worker well for me.

As for the dash...... again, the Meguiars Vinyl/Rubber has been good. It doesnt not leave that shine and awful smell and most important... it has no silicone which will carck under heat over time.

If you want your car to smell like I did while at the factory....... Japan!

Your leather (like all M's, and most new cars for that matter) is coated and as such can be cleaned by simply wiping it with a damp microfiber towel. Once or twice a year condition it with whatever you would like--even a water-based vinyl dressing would work such as the natural shine that is pictured above in cakedaddy's post.

BTW, cakedaddy, the product that you describe does indeed have silicone, but it is the "safe" water-based emulsion silicone, as opposed to the dimethyl silicone that everyone is afraid of(the kind that casues headaches for bodyshops and dries out leather/vinyl). Typically you can tell the difference by looking at the product--water -based is going to be white and watery. Solvent-based dimethyl is going to be clear, thick, and gooey.

Zaino "Leather in a Bottle."

I use it not only on my leather, but on all my interior wood, plastic and metal. Great stuff. It's a bit embarrassing though. You'll go through the day repeatedly smelling your fingers w/an erotic look upon your face due to the delicious leather smell it leaves behind. People (other males mostly) will look @ you as though they thought your fingers had been somewhere else...

ok this might sound kinda stupid, but i never cleaned and condition my leather seat due to the small holes. By doing so is there a possibility of the hole being clogged and the heated/cool seats not functioning properly..??

Yeah, keep viscous stuff like Vaseline away from your seat. Also if you do use Vaseline like stuff, you and your passengers can just fart really hard to break thru the clogs; beats a toothpick and a whole Saturday afternoon...

I use Jaguar hide food on my leather seats. If it's good enough for my Jag its more than good enough for my M.
