Take a shower at the gym, or at least change clothes.

Soapy water (bath soap) may help, then Lexol cleaner and conditioner (two separate products).

Ditto on the cleaners. Also try just laying some towels down. I had to put one on the console and on the seat after I got done with the gym.

You know, I got some of that turtle wax cleaner conditioner, and I thought it worked great.... here is what I did

Get the inside of the car warm..... Either turn on the heater for a while, or let it sit outside with the windows closed...... Get the stuff, and douse it..... Let it sit (crucial) for about 5-10 mins and wipe it off... Repeat until clean....

I might recommend something other than the stuff I used..... It works great, but smells like a mix between lotion and bacon grease..... Works great, and turned rock hard rear headrests supple again!!!

Leatherique is the best, if you want the best.

But for quick cleanup, the Armorall LEATHER wipes are convenient.

A little known secret.Sometimes the cheap stuff is real good.

Armor Alll leather condionter (in little brown bottles)

Even tho its a condionter it also cleans sicne its solvency is pretty decent. What I do is to coevbr the seats ina thick layer of it, (mmmmmm) let sit for a half hour, then wipe off.

This will make your leatehr feel real nice and remove unsightly smells to boot.

I've had varying results with Leatherique. In my 92 Bnz it defineitly softened the leather but in my 92Q it's only softened a bit (almost not noticable). I've doused the Q's seats SEVERAL (at least 4x) times already. I'm soon to give up. It leads me to believe that results vary with leather types. I can say that heat is a BIG factor in results as I never got decent results (with the Bnz) until the weather warmed up. You have to have HOT weather (90+) and you must leave the windows up and let soak for at least 18hrs.

BTW you might just try laying a towel down on your seat first before sitting down. Showering at the gym can be a RPITA with all the stuff you have to pack and deal with. But sweat can really accelerate the breakdown of leather.

I've been told by some leather guys that there are different dyes and finishing techniques. Some are oil based, and some are water based... the oil based finishes will allow conditioners to soak in better, since the conditioners are oil based. He said the water-based ones tend to be almost untreatable...

Don't know if it's true or not, but it may explain the difference in the MB vs. Q results.

I use Meguiar's leather cleaner/conditioner on my G20 and it really makes the seats look and feel great. My only complaint is that it doesn't soften them very much.....maybe I'll have to try leaving the stuff on longer.

I have used Armor ALl, Mcguires, Eagle 1, and some others, over the years. I got a squirt can of cleaner from the Infiniti dealership. I can't see any difference, but it does say Nissan on the can. I stil use the mcguires, for conditioning.

I do have better luck, by applying it when the leather is hot., and leaving it to soak in.

My 2000 I30t has softer leather, than the '95 Maxima, and '92 Maxima had, and it has stayed very soft, over the years. They have all been black.

My '94 Q has silver leather, and it is harder in places, like the '92 Maxima had, but still very pliable. The guy I bought the car from conditioned the leather every 6 months. I do it every 3, now.

Definitely use towels, after a workout, though. Stinky leather is bad! I, and my wife, both dry off, before getting in her car, after her workouts.

It helps to use a brush to gently massage the leather before applying conditioner and while applying leather cleaner. It sort of "opens" it up and lets the chemicals and oils get in deeper.

Believe it or not, you can use 600 (or is it 400) grit sandpaper (wet/dry) with the cleaner as well.

Check the leatherique website, it has great instructions.
