have a question for the leasing experts here. i know there was a thread a while ago (can't locate it with the search) that spelled out the best way (and cheapest) to lease a vehicle (think it had to do with going through the fleet manager). my uncle wants to trade in his leased altima for a murano, and, i think a sentra, two vehicles at once (he's a nissan lover!). i also will get him to be a member here!!!!! thanks guys!!!jeff

I love leases!!! Is he going to get into another lease? How soon will his lease end? What year is his Altima? Is he within his lease terms? Does he qualify for early lease termination? These aren't anywhere near all of the questions he needs to ask himself before going to the dealer to buy.

You should run a search on leasing and you'll find a few posts that guys have referred to in the past but this is really gonna make you blush. I posted this somewhere on the boards earlier in July, I just can't remember where. Also scroll down to Nissan Signature Financing.

NMAC invites eligible lease customers maturing 08/01/04 to 12/31/04 to return their lease vehicle prior to the maturity date without payment penalties when they purchase or lease a new 2004 or 2005 Nissan through NMAC between 07/01/04 and 08/02/04!

If you want I can email you more info. It's on an official Nissan Adobe file so I'll have to retype it to avoid violating any laws.

Most dealers no longer have a fleet manager. Especially Nissan. We hope to one day re-enter fleet sales with the Titan but anyone claiming to be a fleet manager at a Nissan dealer might be pulling your chain. Sales managers generally handle sales to rental car facilities.

There's no trick to leasing. It's pretty easy as long as he qualifies. There's no shopping for the best rate and he has no need for the extended warranty. The buying is easy for everyone in a lease as long as the desk manager has financed a lease deal before. In some cases you can even go straight to the finance manager to do the paper work. He's been in lease before so it should be no surprise to him. The only thing I can say is that he shouldn't expect to see a huge decrease in payments because he's leasing two vehicles. The paperwork can show a combined payment but at the end the payments go to two different accounts at Nissan. So he shouldn't be looking for thousands of dollars in savings unless the dealer was going to knock down the price anyway. Usaually the reason a dealer likes leasing is because they don't have to knock down the price to sale the payments.
