Okay, given I AM sick right now with something, but I'm watching TV and seeing Cartman in a raccoon costume riding C'thulu with some happy music repeating said destroyer of worlds' name again and again. Damn, these steroids are strong...

I agree heating oil prices suck. But after watching that house in NJ literally explode and disappear due to a natural gas leak, I'm not so angry that I heat with oil.

We had a 1/2" of ice overnight and are in the 4"-8" range for predicted snow tonight. But given how our hype crazed local meteorologists are, that means probably means a dusting.

Heating oil? Is that like kerosene? Cause if so, that s***'s expensive! I've got a 25K BTU heater thing and K1 is like $4.35 a gallon. Blegh. Thing works wonders, but it's just so expensive to feed.

They closed Kentucky. Like, literally closed Kentucky. We had anywhere from 3-6" here. That's actually a quite large amount for TN. And now they melted all the snow with the brine, and it's gonna be 8 degrees tonight. So guess what I get to drive to work in tomorrow? Again, I might add. I'm tired of ice. The snow was actually refreshing.

They didn't close down Kentucky. I-65 was locked down and on gridlock because of all the snow, but other than that it was a typical snow day where some businesses and schools were closed. I-64 was really bad on Thursday morning though but I still could still get around. I didn't go into work though because I didn't want to drive 30 miles on a snow covered interstate. By afternoon you could travel though.

We ended up with 14" in Shelbyville. I ended up snow drifting in the Pathfinder in the McDonalds parking lot because it was shut down. Between the last two snows and the towing I've done lately, the Pathfinder has more than paid for itself.

ok, so i don't have a huge living room, just over 150sf. i've had these altec lansing 2.1 computer speakers plugged into my tv for years now that i originally 11 years ago. they have been really sensitive lately, where the volume knob has to be slightly adjusted for both speakers to work. i'm talking hairline adjustments, enough that the vibration of the speaker will knock it out of "tune" so that only one speaker works and i have to readjust.

so basically, i'm interested in replacing them with something similar that isn't going to cost much, but sounds good, and lasts. i'm no audiophile by any means so i don't need anything hardcore. suggestions?

Were gonna hit 50 today, so buh-bye snow, hello flooding. Even better, it might finally be warm enough to drive to the Z.

that sound bar looks interesting. that magnavox set-up would take up too much room. my entertainment center is low on available real estate as it is.

The problem with your speakers is most likely that you need to clean the plug from the speakers and the socket that goes into your TV.

If you really need an excuse to buy speakers, then by all means. But a repair with symptoms like that should be easy! The issue is definitely with the cables, not the speakers themselves.
