You're not the only one MoD. I genuinely enjoy my job as well. I have been there for a year and have never just not wanted to go into work because I didn't want to be there. I work with some pretty good people, that only piss me off half of the time though, so i'm sure that helps.

I love my job too, but I own my own business, so that seems to come along with the territory. My work is also seasonal, so I'm doing alot of chilling right now. Unfortunately, I'm slow when it's too cold to work on the car, and crazy busy when it's nice to work on the car.... I need a heated garage I can fit my car in and work on it.

Well, that's it for the job that I just got. Was let go for "not matching customer service approach" and "not fitting in". lol What total bs.

Sure, I don't fit into some corporate geeks plan, but I was hired for installation and maintenance. As far as "customer service", that wasn't really part of my job! I was busy doing real work in the back while someone else was explaining it all. I was too short with the company to even know how they run or handle things... I wasn't even asked to handle any customer service stuff, ever. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around it right now. I can only guess that someone was either threatened or was just a big old btich swinging their dcik around for power when I disagreed with them on something and is hiding behind a more ethical release reason.

I guess I'll always have the inconsistent contract work, but I HATE 1099 forms and the double taxes associated with it. I *really* hate at-will employment. Virginia can suck a sneezed-on unwashed doorknob as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry to hear man. Especially getting laid off for something you weren't involved in. Maybe you should go back and have a scene like in Fight Club with a manager in private!

Gonna move the MAF wires over to the passenger side, as well as put a plug on the end so I can switch between MAFs if needed. (You can see the female plug on my stock MAF connector, I just need to put the male side on the car harness now.)
I dunno if that big black wrap that wrapped all those wires together do any sort of useful shielding, but I'm gonna grab some off a junkyard car so I can keep the MAF wires wrapped too.
I am wanting to do the same thing with mine.Where did you get the male connector for the harness end?

Sounds like you had a good time, any pics?
Why only 6lbs? Didn't plumb in the MBC yet?

I have plenty o pics, but haven't put any up yet. I'll post a few here when I get the opportunity.

Morning fellas.
Just a quick shameless plug- I'm on the lookout for an '07+ Subaru Legacy with a manual transmission and no more than 120k miles. If you see something, please give me a shout!

Thats probably a good idea. Im dumb and forgot about that. Very jealous that you're able to drive your car around though. This cold, then warm, then rainy, then snowy weather SUCKS. Not driving the fun cars is getting depressing. Makes you want to sell 'em, you know?

Ha. Relatable post. You know what's the absolute BEST? Working on your car in the cold, and having your hand go numb from the cold, then smacking it really friggin hard when the wrench slips. Oh god I love that.

The remote start doesn't always work on my corolla so I made myself a deal that if it didn't start I was going to take the miata- weather be damned. After wheeling down the trash and recycling, I said f*** it and drove the corolla because the heater in that thing is a BEAST.
If its going to be cold, I want some damned snow!

Its kinda surprising to hear that the MR2 has a badass heater considering its engine is behind you. Does it blow from the front vents or from behind you? Wheres the heater core in that car?

Speaking of heater cores, I hate, hate, hate when those fail.

Yesterday I rode in a 1992 Dodge Dynasty in showroom condition. The car itself is entirely unremarkable except for its incredible, showroom-like condition.

Thank goodness for the elderly!

Isn't it interesting how old people often seem to have the BEST examples of the WORST cars?

See it all the time in my shop, however one of my elderly customers has an 85 Corvette with less than 10000 miles.

Heater core and vents are in the front just like a regular car.

Agree with you on heater core failure,90% are a total PITA to service!

Those are the rarest of the rare. Old peopled owned COOL cars. Could you imagine spending Corvette money on a car and only putting 10K miles on it for the next 20 years? That's like 2 tanks of gas through it A YEAR!!!! That's crazy.
