Mornin' Ben! Happy New Year to you, too.

I drove the corolla into a pole (well, some foul weather helped) so I'm on the lookout for a Suby Legacy anything that isn't a WRX. 2005+. Has anyone seen anything locally? Manual transmission preferred.

Nope, not totaled. But that is solely because I don't have collision on it. No sense in paying for that service on a '91 rust bucket corolla when its value is likely only what it is worth in scrap. It was recently inspected though, so in the mean time I've picked up two used snow tires and borrowed a Sawzall to cut the bumper to keep it from rubbing the tire, and will bolt/zip tie/gorilla tape a new head light in as best I can while I search for a Suby. I have ~27 more days to make my repairs under the insurance rental policy I have.

I would normally fix the car right, but that perception changed when 2 friends and I chased a winter storm into VT to go skiing after Christmas. Normally we'd take my car, but because of the accident, we took an '04 Grand Prix, which was a safer, slightly more suitable choice. However, driving in blizzard conditions to and from the mountain was a harrowing drive. Little plowing, loads of snow, ice, etc on the road. Some salt might have been spread. Snow in your windshield. You needed the high beams to see what little of the road you could, but all that light refracted off the falling snow making visibility a b****.

Anyway, the drive was downright scary- I've never, EVER been this scared driving a car. It was equipped with good all season tires, and had airbags, but that realization that I was responsible for two more lives in the vehicle and that in my car (regardless of how little I care if the Corolla was crashed during the trip) really got me feeling that I need to have something safer and much more suitable to drive in the winter if we continue to go skiing and chasing storms like this one. I’m a big boy now, and can afford a big boy car, I just really have to work at finding that perfect car that has all things equal in price, age, mileage, deprecation, etc. I don’t want to finance a 10 year old car, you know?

You don't want a Subaru. What you want is this;

That's right, a 1982 AMC Eagle SX/4! Cheap, rare, desirable, 4wd, available straight 6. Pure awesomeness.

ARGH.

I was browing the Elder Scrolls Wiki yesterday (trying to figure out how the @$#% you craft crossbow bolts) and there was a weird-a** ad for a weird-a** female mannequin on the side. I missed a link and clicked the mannegquin ad by mistake. It went to an amazon.com sale page for the thing. Now, everywhere I go, I'm getting bombarded with amazon ads for female mannequins. It's friggin' creepy.

EDIT:
HUZZAH! Amazon lets you edit your shopping history so I deleted the stupid mannequin from my history and how the creepy-a** ads are gone.

That's where it comes from?!? I was shopping for for a welder a few weeks ago and now I have welder ads everywhere. I cleared my cookies to no avail. Now I know what to do!

Not personally, but I've heard it is incredibly wonderful to visit/vacation there. Personally, I found Grand Cayman to be really nice and fun. Not to mention there were a lot of DD Skylines hanging around on Grand Cayman.

Gonna get em rebuilt and revalved by Feal Suspension.
Maybe upgrade to Swift springs, not sure if I want to stick with 6k's in the back or go down to 5k.

I gotta admit, I'm MILDLY irritated that my car has 82k miles on it and still doesn't need new shocks. 'Cause I'm sure as Hell NOT going OEM when replacement time comes.
