Yeah i've gotten used to riding on the top of the handlebars, and i'm faster then i was on the mountian bike in the top position. Now if i could get used to being in teh 'drops' i bet i'd be much faster.
one thing that's remarkable though, after long periods of fast pedaling (2nd gear) my legs dont hurt nearly as much as on the mountain bike. I guess thinner tires and a lighter weight has something to do with it.
for reference my mountain bike; 55lbs 21x1.95 wheels
road/racing bike; <15 lbs 27x1 1/4wheels
