I like this idea. Have a white accented gauge cluster, and stuff a black light in that bish. BOOM instant dark purple. You won't see that tree you're driving into.

No seriously, the gauge from the MS3 in the '07 models and the VW GTi's had excellent clusters.

The 220 has 5 little LEDs on it, the 120 has 1 LED.

Will the 120 be enough?

I would say only if you get the dome light also blacklight. If you actually need to see just get really bright write leds from the 2 map light up front.
