I've always wanted to get black-out drunk and go to a filming of the Springer show. I can only imagine that would be epic.

I assume, then, that your objective is to be on stage.

Nah, but I would probably end up on camera asking some absurd question intended to piss off one of the inbreds.

In other news, I am REALLY starting to enjoy The Black Keys. I've yet to hear and album they recorded that has sucked. Need more of their music in my car!

If you took the Black Crows, the Kenny Wayne Sheppard band, and White Stripes and put them in a blender with ice, a dash of tobasco, and a sprig of mint, whipped to a frappe, then poured into a white-hot martini glass rimmed with copper and electrified at 240 volts AC, you'd probably have something that is just about like The Black Keys.

Also, I hate captcha. That s*** is whack. They make it impossible to read and then ask you to type it out. WTF?!?

I like them a lot, but it's a different genre. They're more of a blues-rock band. I'm not sure how else I'd describe it. Any help, Chad?

Edit: just pull them up on youtube and catch a few songs. You'll know if you have any interest in the genre at that point...

I'm listening to some of their stuff on YouTube right now -- I stand behind my description above.

They are such a smooth fusion of garage styles that they are almost a genre all to themselves. I hear some Tom Waits in there, quite a bit of neo-garage grind like Jet, White Stripes, etc., a tad bit of Material Issue or maybe even some Matthew Sweet.

"I Got Mine" is probably the most kick-a** pure-to-form ROCK song I've heard in a decade.

If the show at the Aragon wasn't NYE, I'd be all over it. I usually have some plans for that night. Kind of bummed about that.

No kidding. If these guys were playing an outdoor venue during the summer... warped tour or somesuch, I'd be tempted to brave the crowds to see them. From what I've heard, they are even better live than they are canned. something that always gets me piqued.

That ish has GOTTA be on Guitar Hero or Rock Band somewhere. That riff is FANTASTIC.

It's not on Rock Band. I already looked for it (at least I'm pretty sure). I can believe they would put on an amazing show. Hell, I'm tempted to pickup a pair of tickets for the NYE show (assuming I can get them) just in case my plans fall through...

Okay, maricones, it's after 5 on a Friday and I've already put in over 50 hours at the office this week. Time to go home and enjoy not being here.

Toodles! Have an epic weekend.

I really enjoy their newest album (Brothers), but I've got minimal experience with their older stuff. I didn't have it on my iPod, so it got limited play time in my car. I'm adding a bunch now, but I wont be able to pass a legitimate verdict for a couple of weeks of listening.
