you can drive your Versa 70 miles after the fuel indicator light comes on

you might wonder how I know this, just kidding

My V stopped right in the middle of the road out of gas, I saw the indicator light come at 309 and i forgot to check the miles and fill gas, went to work drove back through the highway and took the exit near my home and tried to go to the nearest gas station, but my V stopped 1000 yards before at 379

Luckily a guy who was filling gas at the station had a fuel tank which I borrowed and walked up to my car to fill gas.

It would have been wierd for the people who drove by me with trucks and 4X4's to see a guy with a tiny car in the middle of the road out of gas

Not to be mean, but it really doesnt answer much. It's all varied based on speed and what kind of mpg you were getting. It's all dependant on what your current mpg is and how big the reserve tank or how many gallons are left once the light comes on. So hypothetically, you're light comes on when there's 2 gallons left. If you're getting 32mpg you're gonna get 64 miles out of the remaining tank.

If you're getting 35 or 36 mpg you'll average 70 or 72. Not trying to be rude or put you down. It's just that, dependant on driving habits, mpg and remaining gallons when the light comes on, you could get less than your 70 miles or more than the 70.

The post from Red Devil makes a very good point.

Perhaps the original poster could reply and share what the average fuel economy is on his Versa, assuming he keeps track of such things (not everyone does), then the observation would have more meaning.

It is probably fair to say when the fuel light comes on, there is somewhere between two to three gallons left. Good to know.

I had another post may be three months ago saying that I get 29 miles/G, but this is in summer and haven't driven my car in winter yet.

So atleast 50 miles is assured, even how bad we drive, I think that will be sufficient to go to the nearest gas station.

No body wants to wait until their car stops in the middle of the road

Under extreme circumstances(like me forgetting to fill gas while I was in a hurry reaching my work place in time) it will atleast give assurance to somebody that Versa is going to take them to the nearest gas station

This could be different for the winter.

My guess is reserve holds atleast 2 1/2 gallon, because I have seen it in one of my friends car who also owns a Versa, once his car was out of gas and all he had in his car was 2 1 gallon water bottles, we walked to the nearest gas station and filled gas in those two bottles and filled the gas tank but the car didn't start, we shaked the car so many times in vein, so we had to make another trip to the gas station and bought another gallon of gas and filled the tank and now it started without any problem.

So we learned this in hard way, luckily it wasn't winter.
