Learned a good lesson today.

Well today I went to go work on my car that has been sitting for 3-4 days. When i got in the car there was a giant burn line across my headliner. I was pissed and couldnt fguure out what happened until i looked at my mirror sitting on my center console facing upwards... Well the sun shined into the mirror for 3 days and the headliner got burnt, just like when we were kids and would burn leaves with magnifying glasses. Well i learned today never leave a mirror face up in your car ever! Now to the pics and damage/destruction mother nature sent me.

i wonder if the slight curvature of the window was enough to work as a magnifying lens??? i know that clear water bottles can be dangerous in cars for the same reason.

A similar thing happens on sailboats. Those girly trinkets like snowglobes and glass orbs and stuff happen to catch some sailboats on fire from the sun shining through them.

it wasnt the interior mirror..my outside mirror fell off so i just put it down on my center console with the mirror part facing upwards. Ik it sucks and im lucky the car didnt catch fire, i also think its kinda funny, but yea imma prob just keep it or redo the headliner. and no my innsurance wont cover it cause its not insured, i just got it road ready and of course this happens now :/ but w.e we learn from our mistakes. the mirror that burnt the headliner looks fine, i threw it in the garbage a second i found out wat did it.
