i have a 1990 240 single cam and it shuts off at about 4500 in 3rd gear. i was wondering if it is possible that if u have a bad fpr and i bad fuel filter if it can restrict the fuel so bad if its leaning out the engine so bad that sensors see the lean condition and the computer shuts the motor off. does this make sense to anyone. ive tried searching and several other options and have this last option before i just begin replacing everything. i need help.

If you have a bad fpr and fuel filter, replace em.

Replace them and see. I'd do the fuel filter first since thats the cheapest. And if your bored enough, blow out from the bottom side of the old fuel filter and see how much crap is in there =)
