i have a bad missfire i believe, when im idling- my rpm's vary between 600 and 900 pretty sparatically. if you look at the motor while its idling it misses every few seconds and the whole motor will "jerk". not a whole lot, but enough to notice and hear.

my mechanic says it is a lean miss, as in its not gettting enough fuel. any reasons you guys might know of? could something have just gone wrong and there is a way i can adjust it to run smoothly again?

thanks in advance- matt

ok, well just think about fuel delivery... pump... through filter... to injectors... how old is the fuel filter? So how is it like when you are driving...? More information would get you a better response. :-) BTW, the maf sensor can cause the motor to jerk and run like total crap. It lets the ecu know how much air is coming in and somehow that regulates fuel .

well it drives fine it will only miss at an idle. i dont really know how old the fuel filter is but it would be no big deal to change that.

and then how can i change the maf to not make it run like crap (if that were to be the case)... thanks

Hey, it's always good to replace your fuel filter... I replaced mine with one from a 300zx tt, it's bigger. You can also try cleaning your maf. I'm not 100 percent sure what solvent to use so please search the forum for "Maf Cleaning " or maybe just "MAF".
