Does anyone else have this problem with their type s bov leaking at idle only..??

The only way to stop this is to adjust the screw all the way till the valve is closed shut, but then it wont open when i come off boost, even at 15 psi..

I just realized that this bov is open at idle and un-metered air is going in...

no I havent had to adjust mine all the way down, but I did have to adjust it 3/4s of the way down. I dont know why it has to be so freaking hard. Ive had 3 greddy type s bov on 3 different cars and the kat is the unhappy bov . On my other cars.....mkiv and fd, I set the type s kinda soft so they had the longer psssssstttttt which I like better, but the kat is more like pstt. Sorry Im no help.

And to make it worse, this bov makes a whistling noise after it opens and releases the pressurized air.....Like say im driving down the road, NOT under boost, and obviously still in vacuum state, i will let the gas pedal go and the bov will start to whistle until i hit the pedal again...This bov is so strange.. makes me wana go buy an hks cause they claim it does NOT leak under idle nor boost...

No leaking here. I have it adjusted to 1/2 way and it works very well. I get some pretty long pssshht's. One thing you may wanna do is run a dedicated line to the BOV. Did you ever get that inner spring back? Because I had leaky issues with it out as well.

What a rip-off..... Sorry for your misfortune. I'd rake through ebay till I found a cheap Type S or an inner spring. With some of the stuff on Ebay these days, I would be willing to bet someone is selling springs on there. Good luck.

Well im trying to decide if i, gonna buy that hks ssq, its supposed to NOT leak at idle and NOT leak under high boost cause of its internal design..Also the JGS bov is supposed to NOT leak also.. But its a pull type valve or something and i think its the same design as the type s but not sure..I know the hks is its OWN design..

Here is the JGS one:http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/index2.html
