The motor has 2000 miles on a rebuild and ever since mile 1 the timing chain cover has leaked. Its leaking pretty good too. I think its just about ready to change its own oil for the second time now. I used new Nissan gaskets but It seems like im forgetting something. What did I forget?

Were all the machined surfaces true and straight? Did you check them with a straightedge?

Were there any areas of the cover that specified using sealant (usually areas where there is an awkward angle)?

Is it the front seal? Can you tell what part of the timing cover is leaking?

They tend to leak at the corner where the cover joins the sump (oil pan).

did someone use a prybar to disengage the cover from the block?...that block is mighty soft and easy to gouge. Just a tought, since i've seen it happen.
