well I got my car back from the mechanic brand new with rebuilt engine, transmission and pretty much everything mechanical done.

Now for the past 2 days it's been raining really hard. The first day I came home and noticed the trunk was filled with water wear the spare tire is. So I spend about an hour cleaning all that up and drying everything thinking it would never happen again. Now day 2, I come to the car and open the trunk because it was raining and no water. When I drove to pick up my brother, I came home and looked inside the trunk and surprising enough, theres a puddle of water in the spare tire area again. The car is a 93' 240sx hatchback. Any suggestions to what the problem may be and if possible the solution? thanks

hey man, I've got a 92 240sx and i had the same problem. the previous owner had gotten rear-ended and the ICBC repair school drop out did a slack *** job on it. So i have been constently going into the back with a silicon black goopy stuff to seal up the leaks. I find they mostley come in around the break lights and where the rubber is between the hatch it's self and the actual trunk. It's taken me about a month and a lot of patients but just last night i finally got all the leaks. I'm guessing you're having the same problem. My suggestion is to crawl into the back with a flash light and have someone poor the hose on the back of ur car. take a piece of chalk and mark where it's coming in. U will have to dry it up first, then use a hard drying silicon glue(i bought some stuff from lordco) it's like a mono tube and it's black goop inside. Im not sure on the name but if u get this and message back i'll take the time and go find out for u. anyway...you will probelby need to keep tutching it up throughout a week or 2 but what i did was put a towel along the back wall of the trunk to absorb any water that came it. just make sure u check the towel every night and morning. There were a few times when it got saugy and stunk up my car. well i hope this helps man and good luck. P.S: i hope you have a lot of patience

check the seals around the taillights and the center section and also the body seams where they have been spot welded together, sometimes the sealer used at the factory dries and cracks.
