I have a 1990 240sx S13. The 3rd injector seems to be leaking fuel from the top part of the injector/Fuel rail connection. I have purchased a Fuel injector Seal/Ring kit to try and fix the problem, but want ot make sure I do this right. Can I just unscrew the Fuel Rail and POP off the injector? Replace the upper Orings, and Screw back on? Or is there a trick?/or something I should be aware of before embarking on this repair? I have also priced new injectors out ranging in price from 140$ each to 50$ each, any suggestions for this if needed, I currently have 155K miles on the engine/current injectors. Thanks:confused:

You will want to depressurize the fuel system first. Start the car then locate the fuse box inside your engine bay to the left of your throttle body. Inside it, pull the fuse for the fuel pump and let the car die. There will still be fuel inside the rail and lines, but it wont be spurting out.

If you are considering new ones, http://www.Summitracing.com has a set of 4 from Venom for like $225, not too bad. 10% more fuel that stock.

It says these injectors will fit a 1990 240sx, so they will also fit on an 89 right? Just double checking. Thanks.

One other thing i might do is get some dieletic grease (conductive grease usually used on plug wires) and put a little to each injector connection, just to make sure they dont corrode in the future. As i check each of my sensors with age i do this. Helps maintin longevity.

Good luck!!

OK OK, I finally got the clutch issue fixed, Thanks again for all the help... I started to take off the BPV valve, and the fuel rail to get to the fuel injectors. I had bought a seal kit for like 2$ at the auto parts store for only one injector, I got the new oring and rubber coupler/separater thing on the fuel rail end of the leaky injector, when I noticed that one of my other injector nozzle heads was cracked. So i removed that injector to see that part of the plastic nozzle tip had broken off and was stuck in the hole that the injector goes into the engine. While trying to carefully get this "small" plastic piece out of the incredibly small hole, it fell into the hole!!! So what do I do? Will this cause big problems, will it just ride on top of a valve or something or will it cause some detrimental problem with my fuel injection or pistons for that matter!!! Please help.. I will be shopping around for new injectors now on the internet. I checked out summitracing.com and want to shop around some more first. Let me know your ideas on this matter. Thanks again.

If you've already taken the fuel send and return lines and pressure regulators off, you might be able to shake it out. Sorry man, that sounds horrible. Only time i'm glad my other car is a 85 Porsche 944, the fuel rail has a removeable end cap that is as big as the rail. Only alternative if you cant get the peice out is get a 'new' rail from a junked 240SX. I'd clean it up good with some carb cleaner before i install it, but it beats a new Nissan OE part.

The piece actually fell into the intake manifold/or whatever. The hole the injector inserts into at the engine. What do you think about that? Prob need to get to it somehow? Wish it were only in the rail. hehe Thanks for all your help. Can I get to it by way of the valve cover? Thanks again...:thinker
