I just purchased a 1990 240sx with no mods. After draining, flushing and filling the radiator, coolant appears to be dripping from around the oil pan gasket. No white smoke, no water in oil that I can see so I don't think it's a head gasket issue.

I followed the instructions in the owners manual for replacing coolant. This included removing air plug, drain plug and draining via the petcock valve under the radiator. Was a ***** getting the drain plug out but no coolant drained from there. Only out of the petcock valve.

Once drained, flushed until clear and refilled all looked great and no leaks. The day after I noticed coolant dripping but could not see from where. Only sign was it appeared that it was either coming from directly above the oil pan or from the pan gasket.

Any thoughts?

Ben a while since I worked on KA, but could it possibly be your water pump leaking down?

Is this right above the oil pan? I wonder if when I drained out the rusty water in the radiator it loosened a crack or something in the pump. Thank you for your reply.

I'm pretty sure ka water pump is similar to sr pump. Basically, when you pop your hood and have that fan coming off the motor, that is attached to the water pump. Feel around underneath where that is for moisture. There is a hole that leaks when the seals go bad.
