Ok I have a 91 s13 that wasn't kept in the best shape (but for some reason the motor with 160k works pretty much like it's brand new lol). Anyway my windows are leaking I believe from the top where that thing rubber seal is. I don't want to pay nissan an arm and a leg for a new seal on both sides. Can I fill that rubber with silicon or something similiar to fill in the gaps? Or will those over window scoops things prevent leakage inside (almost as much as nissans seals lol).

Next question - my trunk is also leaking. I don't think it's the main seal but can I also fill that with that silicon to prevent leaks? My windshield molding ripped off in the last snow storm (top part) so I have to replace that which is one reason I think it's the rear window molding rather than the trunk seal. Another reason I think it's the window seal is because water somehow gets inside the trunk lid and leaks from the bottom right corner of it (where the grey covering is). It pools there then drip on to my battery ground and fuel pump access port (I don't have any carpeting in the trunk of either of my 240s). After it rains, when I open the trunk, water will pour down from the bottom right where the molding is.

Any ideas how to patch these leaks?

I would lay inside the car and have a buddy run a garden hose on the car...

Wait to see where the water is coming in from. Also I have leaking issues in my trunk with my S14, so I ran some water on the trunk and I was surprised to find that it was coming from my tail lights. I used some silicon and boom, problem solved. I highly suggest running water while you watch from inside the car.

I hope some one with more experience chimes in for more advice.

your trunk leak is most likely your taillight seal. take your tails out, and reseal them with something like 3m strip caulk.

Clarification I got a hatchback so I don't think it's the taillights that would be kinda like the water weas flowing uphill. I agree I'm going to reseal the taillights to though. And I'll try that water hose thing see if that helps out.

I know that it could be the taillights. I'm just saying it doesn't form a puddle and stay there. When I open the trunk lid, water drips from the under side (where the hollow part of the hatch is) at the bottom right corner of the hatch and then drips down on to the fuel pump access cover. And it only really leaks heavily in the trunk when I open it and then it pours down.

I think I finally figured this out. The seal around the hatch is leaking I'm pretty sure because I have water leaking from my roof when it rains since the seal around the windshield is blown through almost as well. Just a little tip for everybody with 20 year old cars and original glass panels lol.
