I have a 93 240sx with a ka24e. So I have a leaking oil pan. I placed the oil pan gasket 3 times now, all refering to fsm. FIrst two times i used hondabond, last time i used permatex ultra grey. Best seal i had so far, but still leaking quite a bit. Oil pan appears to be in pretty good condition. It lays flat when placed on counter top. So am I doing something wrong? Why wont it seal??? Do you suggest I need a new pan? I dont see that would help, since mine appears to be flat, n gasket would fill any imperfections. What do you suggest i do? Your help would be appreciated.!!

How quickly did you go from laying on the permatex to tightening the pan? When I did mine I had a friend hold the pan just below where it needed to be while I put the sealant around it. As soon as i finished with the sealant he pushed/held it against the block while I bolted it up. Make sure the surfaces are very clean and work fast. If that doesn't help then maybe track down exactly where the leak / leaks are coming from and check for damage. Good luck!

Are you sure its not coming from above, and just leaking off the oil pan?

use ultra black. put it on both sides of the gasket all around, snug it, let it sit for 45 mins. then final torque it.
