Just got the Pathfinder today, it's a 99.5. Brought it into the garage and smelled burning oil, opened the hood and saw oil dripping from the area in the picture with the red arrow. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forums. I don't have a Pathy, but I've seen plety of oil there on other cars. It is probably coming from the crank pulley seal and being thrown up there by the belts and pulleys. You might want to replace that seal. Being unfamiliar with the car, other things to check out are the PCV valve and the ventilation tube from the valve cover.

PS - Is that white powder corrosion on your battery positive? Maybe clean up your terminals.

Thanks for the welcome and the info centralcoaster33, I'll be sure to clean up those terminals. I bought this vehicle knowing it would have issues and i'm hoping I can take care of them myself, I'll look into replacing the crank pulley seal and see if I can do it myself.

Looks to me like valve cover gasket is leaking.
