Leaking oil cooler (oil)

I noticed that my engine is leaking some oil from the oil filter/cooler area. I am going to take a closer look tomorrow, I was currious if anyone else has had this problem. I haven't seen a bunch of repeat posts about this or anyhting so I figure it is just wear and tear. If anyone has delt with this before any advice would be nice, since I am trying to minimize down time.

yeah, ive come across this problem, it was a PITA to fix to..

you have to take off the braces on the intake to block, then remove the ALT, your going to want to replace all those coolant hoses under there also.

there is a large diameter oring that gets smashed flat and leaks in the cooler unit, i went to a napa and had the counter guy dig through and take the orings out of a bunch of oil filters till we found one that fit good enough to not leak. i could not find a oring with an exact fit, it may take a hour of looking but you should find one.

Oh boy, I think i have the same problem. Could you describe where that o ring is exactly? i have oil all over the block on the intake side, but not above the headgasket really, so I think its the same thing. I hope atleast. Um, is there any way I could confirm that?

oh and btw, the leak only started after i changed my oil and filter. Thought that might be relevant.

Wow. Way to bring back a 3 and a half year old thread.

Did you install the o-ring with the filter? Or did you lube up the o-ring prior to install? I have even seen filters packaged with 2 o-rings before and that would cause a leak.

Lol i searched instead of just posting, didnt realize the date until after. lol. well, I actually cleaned off that entire oil mess. put in some more oil. Started the car and isolated the leak. It ended up being my oil pressure sensor switch thingy. Its leaking like crazy.....
