leaking master clutch cylinder: replace or rebuild?

rebuild kit: $20new aftermarket replace: $40used oem replace: $50new oem replace from dealer: $110

doing it yourself: priceless...

no seriously, I am pretty sure I won't the new oem but which one would you choose?

I'd go with the $40 choice, it's the cheapest one of the bunch that does not require as much work. Plus, assuming it's from a parts store, it will have a warrenty. Not much of a guarentee from them on the rebuild kit if you rebuild it on your own.

i rebuilt mine with the dealer's rebuild kit and it work great. no problem--or whatsoever.

I would do the rebuild, i did a rebuild on my Datsun trucks master cylinder. Took all of 10 minutes

Rebuild... cheap, easy, takes as much time as you swapping it out. Clean the cylinder with brake cleaner and it'll look like new.

IMHO it more depends on how long you intend to keep ithe car. If its for the long haul, I'd go new. If you think about it $50 difrference is a pretty small number. But if you're about to sell it, then go the cheapest route.
