I have water leaking down into my trunk al the way to the area where the spare is stored. When it rains really hard I will have about 3 inches of water below my carpet. Where would it be leaking into and how would I fix it? I have a 90 Nissan 240sx Fastback

does it have the spoiler, if it does look under it and see if it has rust holes underneath it.

2 more places to look for leaks... check under the car to see if the saddle areas behind the interior panels in the trunk has holes, the wheels may be spraying water UP into these.gaskets... check the hatch gasket, wiper arm gasket, and glass trim.easiest way to do this is to sit inside the trunk with the hatch down and have someone spray it from all angles with a garden hose then just look for water dripping.

sometimes water will come in behind the taillights especailly with the JUNYAN altessa style lights. removing all trim and panels in the trunk may make finding the leak easier, just be prepared not to freak out if you see cancerous rust.

remember the rubber drain plug below the spare tire is there for a reason, open it up if too much water is getting in. I've had nissan shops tell me there is no drain plug in a 240sx (theres 3 or more)
