Leaking (Carbon?) Canister

I looked over and organized all the Infiniti service history and receipts for my Q45.

Where could the canister leak from?

Is a steady vacuum of 20" HG proof that there are no vacuum leaks?

But after all I have gone through TWO wiper motors, which is very unusual. I am performing a autopsy of the old motor to see what when wrong. So far I see the brushes have lost ONLY half of there length. But they are not perfectly smooth when going over the armature and the armature has some burnt copper on it.

Sorry to bring up the wiper issue its just bugging me.
