i noticed that it's leaking a lot between the brake master brake cylinder and the brake booster. i think it might be that the brake cylinder needs to be replaced. anyone know? i read some posts about this topic and if it is the case, can someone give me a deatailed walkthrough on how to install a new master brake cylinder. especially about bleeding it and stuff like that. it would really help me out a lot. thanks!

Thats not a good thing ... I'd get that fixed ASAP. Sometimes I've noticed the plastic resevoir cracks on the 240s.

Gravity bleeding. Loosen the bleeders on all the calipers and let your car sit over night. Letting "gravity" bleed all the brakes for you. This method takes a long time but it ensures that your brake system is completely purged of the old fluid.

Ok I get that part now, but if you do that wouldn't all the brake fluid be gone? Isn't that a bad thing?

dont let your brake fluid drop below the "min" bar. Gravity bleeding doesn't take too long so don't worry about it, it'll just trickle down your lines. If you're running new lines, you may want to prep them by trickling some fresh brake fluid into them

can i install an '85 300zx master brake cylinder instead of the s13 one? will it still compliment my stock s13 brakes? i find the 300zx MC a lot cheaper and better?

hmm dunno about that. might want to have a look at 85 300zx bmc before doing anything. Personally I'd just get a reman bmc from an autoparts store. note: they don't usually come with reservoirs so you'll need to stick a flat screwdriver under the reservoir where it meets the bmc to pop it out and install it on the new one. Remember to put some grease in the new bmc's opening where it meets the brake booster too. If you're gonna get a 300zx bmc, get it from a z32 and the calipers too, otherwise you're gonna be po'ed by it being way too sensitive.
