My idle air unit is leaking like a mofo. I did a boost leak test yesterday with a compressor and some soap and water. Well, I found 3 leaks-- One at the intercooler inlet coupler (fixed), the #1 injector seal that sits in the manifold, and the idle air unit. The idle air unit is BAD. I mean, I didn't need the soap and water at all. In fact, I sprayed it on anyway and the soap and water shot right out in all directions (even hit me in the eye). Now, its a two-piece unit and its leaking right between them. It was a brand new gasket and I sprayed it with copper gasket spray. I took it for a drive and its STILL leaking. Should I just RTV the hell out of it or what? Its a BAD leak. Although just by fixing the intercooler coupler made the car a little more driveable. Just sucks whenever I get around 3200 rpms the AFR goes straight to 10.0 and the car starts sputtering and backfiring. I'm going to check the spark plugs again this weekend and probably just throw a new set in for the hell of it. I really want to get it driving right!

you try deleting the unit and putting a block off plate?

If not I dont see why RTV would hurt give it a wack.
