I wanted to know what a leak down test was and what components of the engine it tests? thanks

tests the cylinders, valves, headgasket, piston rings, ect...

it pressurizes the air inside the cylinders, then measures the rate at which they de-pressurize, if it is too fast, then you know you have a problem
