well i finally got the thing to start running right so i had plans to go and dyno the car and my friend said "why do we do a leak down test to see how healthy the motor is" well we did the stupid thing and i got around 14% on cylinders 1 and 5 and about 3% on the rest. the air is leaking down to the crank case.

so what should i do.

1. buy pistons and rod's 2. just get new piston rings and put them in

p.s. i did a leak down test when i bought the motor and before i put it in i guess over the year i've had it they went to crap.

from my search i found that anything over ten wasn't healthy. i know for a fact that there is a major diffrence from cylider 1 and 5 v.s. 2,3,4 and 6. I just dont want to buy rings and put them in and still have a leak. thats why i posted the question i thought maybe someone on here has had the same problem and had some good input on what they did.

try adding some marvelk mystery oil thru the spark plug holes and see if a set of rings are stuck, you also have to realize that these motor have had the hell beat out of them in japan

I'll try that and see if it works. also the car wasnt really hot last time i drove the car was 2 days before i did the test. do you think that would matter?
