Leaf ad takes swipe at Chevy Volt

I know it's been out for awhile but I have been watching this ad recently on the Tour de France coverage. Interesting touch 45 seconds into the ad where Nissan shows a guy filling up his Chevy Volt with gas!

Hate to say it but that might actually be helping Chevy more than hurting Nissan.

it is GM's fault we are this late to EV"s for what they did 15 years ago. so I would never buy a volt under any conditions.

but I did the 10 year TRC of the Leaf and the Volt.

Leaf $29,000 plus 2 batteries (I drive 30 to 40 thousands miles a year so will need a new battery every 3 or 4 years) $12,000 for a total 10 year TRC (total real cost) of around $41,000

10 Year TRC of a volt (for me) $98,500 a lot of that being FUEL and NONE of that being replacement batteries since we have no price for this yet from GM.

Ouch. easy decision for me.
