Does anyone know if I can replace the RR LCU on a 94 Q with lets say one from a 90-93?? I really don't want to pay the $$ for a new one, I'd rather take one out of a salvage Q.

Thanks

Stephen

Local control unit 03. Its the electronic module in the door that communicates with the BCM [basic?] control module and allows the electric door locks and the electric windows to be operated from a central location e.g., the driver's seat.

I think there's a major difference in the 90-93 and 94+ as far as the wiring. If I remember correctly, they switched to the LAN in the 94 model year revision. To my knowledge, everything on the older Q is traditional wiring.

For what it's worth I had a problem with this in my 92, the switch on the door (driver side rear) would raise and lower the window, the switch on the console was inoperative, I was told, and it was repaired under warranty that the "controller module" in the door was bad. I have a printout of all work since the car was new and that is essentially what was said, just my .02 cents and I don't have a clue what it proves one way or another. Especially if it's not a "relay" as in TCS lights and power door locks. Grrrrrrr! I hate them stinkin' relays!

Right you are Q451990!!!!

Went to the salvage yard today, and the 93 and earlier Q don't use the LCU set up. So.... it's now on back order with infinitpartsusa.

Thanks everyone for their help,

Stephen
