lcds on the dashboard

Okay, so I was just curious and started looking up futuristic dashboards...more like carputers installed and the lcds not only where the GPS usually goes, but like it's also your speedometer, and something totally sci-fi.

then i found this mr2:

I thought it was totally awesome and cool, but my question is, does this even make this car street legal?

Should be still street legal but if in question ask a inspection station.

Should definitely be street legal. My moms old bimmer had something almost exactly similar. Played movies had that little dial thing (which was a PITA) and what not. Plus GTR's and other high end automobiles have digital gauges for certain things so I couldn't see why it wouldn't be legal.

Just for precaution if you were actually planning on doing this I would research local laws as well as asking shops about the legality of exactly you want.

Definitely legal. Not sure why anyone would think otherwise. Many states have laws about video being in view of the driver and that would be the only catch. Probably not wise to be watching movies while driving. Also, designing this setup is rather challenging. Check an engadget article on it:
