I have a question about suspension. I was looking through the forum and found that people said good things about Megan... I was thinking of getting a Tein coilover kit ... but now im thinking about going with the megan one its cheaper and people seem to like their products. This leads to my question at hand. Is coilovers a good setup for a street car.. ? Now take into account that I owend a 1991 Crx with a B16a swap that had a 2.5inch exhaust with no cat and straight threw muffler that you could hear from almost 1mile away at the 8k redline.. and it was about 1inch off the ground and rode like a gokart... so im not fully stuck on haveing a 240sx that rides like a Caddie...! But i want something that is best sutited for a street car... this time Im doing things right now like the honda child I used to be...

Coilovers will be fine for the street. Just make sure to purchase the street series and not the track series...that should be obvious. With everything being adjustable, it will be nice because then you can determine a lot of how you want the ride quality to be and where you want your height at. I can say that with the Megan coilovers, your car will not ride like a caddy.

coilovers are voerkill for a daily-drive street car that doesn't have some seriously sticky tires. I'd reccomend a spring/shock setup and call it a day. Search around for various feedback on coilvers, the grip/slip relationship with stiffer spring rates and other good info.

just gp with coils,...400-500 wont be very streetable but yea.coilovers are going togive you more adjustability than a shock/spring combo, but i m sure you knew that already

400-500 whp isn't streetable because with a big enough turbo it will be laggy, with a good enough exhause it will be loud, with enough clutch it will be heavy and snappy and it will likely have ****ty reliability with a KA or SR.any throttle opening in the wet will spin, tires wide enough to get traction will hydro plane on any puddle, good enough brakes will likely squel (sp?) etc. etc. trust me i drove a friends 350 whp turbo integra for a week while he was on vacation and my car went boom and i hated every moment in high traffic situations but it was crazy fun on back roads...

EDIT: i forgot to mention that if the fastest car that you have ever owned is a 240 hp MR2 the first time you floor a 500 hp 240 in any gear it will scare the piss out of you, try 300hp first then after about 6 months when it gets bring and you get own3d by a few vettes then consider 350 hp and so on and so on

Thanks for the reply... I kinda get what your saying... It just sucks.. becuase to me 300hp just isnt fast:( for the amount of money I have put into it... I guess If i wanted a super fast street car I should have got a Supra or something lol.... But what you say does tell me... I know Im going to run 400 to 450hp on boost and run Nitrous that way i can run a T3/t04e and have good responce and my top end I want... at the push of a button..

300 hp isn't fast?? are you just saying that because of all of the cars that you see that have over 300 hp or because you're always driving 300 hp and it isnt fast enough for you?? ebcause if you try to build a 400-500 hp 240 and the fastest car you ahve ever driven in is a 240hp mr2 than you will be scared of driving it because it is so fast and when you get scared you wil never be able to drive it as fast as it is, if that makes any sense at all.

hehe Makes great sence... but I dont get scared... I Pegged out the mr2 Speedo so many times.. and wanted more... thats why I was glad to hear that the Ka24de trans can make it to 170MPH... Cars dont really scare me... The MR layout Did kinda make me a little unconfertalbe at first because I wasnt used to the rear end wanting to swing... when you broke the point of grip... Due to the engine wheight behind me... but as for 300hp... It's not like im saying yo 300hp is slow yo... Its just.. I read people making 400hp and see mags with people making 600+ but I dont know... I guess Ill just have to see if the 400hp suits me if I do think its to much then I'll Lower the bar, if not then up it goes.. :") All in all i guess I'll find out in about o 2 months ..

you have to start somewhere, those people making that much power have been driving 300hp cars for years

theres a difference between pegging the speedo and having no traction through 4th gear

lol yeah, I know its like having no traction in 2nd gear wil getting onto a highway and ending up faceing the traffic coming at you.. because a MR layout... Loves to make you look stupid if you dont respect it... LOL
