I was at the drag strip last friday to run my car for the first time and was having some problems with my launch. Any one have any suggestions on what rpm to launch at. Car is an 89 240sx with a stock sr20det.

well @ what rpm im still playing with... but do realize to get that powerful launch you want your turbo to be spooling...so you have to time in strong throttle with your launch...

i know i was a little in disbelief lol. i have seen much worse pictures in threads. oh well maybe ill find something else cool that people will stare at lol. something "PG-13" haha.

as for the rev limiter thing. you cant just say hey what do you launch at... and expect it to work for your application. for instance i had a welded diff, stage 3 6 puk clutch and a few power adders. also i had 235 wide tires and did a decent burnout in the smoke box. got the tries sticky. when i was open diff i would launch at like wussy 3k or less. so what you need to do is practice more.

as for badbob, i dont think he is going to have much of a problem spooling a t25 on a stock sr. just a thought..... . . .

Just out of curiosity when you say launch at rev limiter that means pretty much putting the gas pedal to the floor right? Since the rev limiter stops the car from going over a certain rpm, correct?

I launch at 7500 rpm's or so. This is with full slicks, act clutch, 334 lbs of tq at the wheels and a stock vlsd and stock axles, haha.

your suspension setup, and tires will also effect your launch. last weekend i was at the trac. i was launching my stock ka at 3k. i have 16's with 225/50, coilovers, some poly bushings, and a vlsd. i had no problem at all hooking. i prolly could have launched higher but didnt get the chance to try. a friend of mine was also there with his stock ka. 17's with low profile tires, open diff and lowering springs/struts combo. he tried to launch at 3k hed either spin one wheel, just flat out bog, or get nasty wheel hop.
