Post

We just received a roadside assistance card form Infiniti.

While we appreciate the card, we certainly do not appreciate the way it arrived.

It was wrapped in the most pretentious, wasteful and non-informative garb I've ever seen from a car company.

How embarrassing.

My BMW card came with a piece of paper and instructions - period.

Infiniti, please stop this type of thing - it's so out of step with the times.

No surprise there.

Infiniti's Marketing Department has sucked since 1989 when they introduced the Q45 without introducing the Q45.

So many amazing cars, so little attention paid to them.

I wouldn't have minded the packaging so much if it had contained useful information - instead, it's a stitched and bound booklet with page after page of pretentious one-liners about traditional Japanese design themes ending, on the last page, with a roadside assistance card attached.

I just couldn't believe intelligent people sat around and created this mess.

Give us info about the car we bought. Something along the lines of its suspension, engine, drivetrain etc., help us to appreciate and remind us of why we bought the thing so perhaps we'll want another in a few years.

Instead, I thumb through the pages, not reading them after about the 2nd or 3rd page, extract the card at the end and throw away the booklet - wasteful.

Infiniti bombed way back in 1989 with their first ad campaign, you'd think they'd have gotten over it by now.

I just recieved my roadside assistance card the other day for my non pretentious bimmer I bought. Imagine, these classless bastards just sent a little krinkled piece of paper, maybe if they make it plain enough I'll just throw it away like its junk mail and I'll end up footing the bill for my next breakdown because I won't have the number.

Infinity on the other hand, what a class act, they are trying to make an impression with their packaging. You'de think after spending $50K on a car everyone would be so meticulous as they are, with fabric and stitching and such. OMG, like I need to be remind3d of how much horse power I have, please, I do have a memory you know, and its only an M35.

Kudos to Infinity.

Wow! I read this post is amazement.

First, it is interesting that "shrp11" has a TOTAL of 7 posts on this board(two in this string) and a total of 6 posts at FRESHALLOYS.COM. Check out this post at: showthread.php?t=184534.

You'll see that he is purposely sparing with a veteran poster.

Here is an excerpt of said post where he is basically insulting and demeaning other posters because they don't agree:

"Well, since I don't read GQ, I can't help with the reference."

It gets better:

"If you guys need your egos stroked by an expensive booklet, bound with cloth stitching, a faux leather appearance and containing page after page of absolutely zero information save for its last page which attaches a roadside assistance card, be my guest."

And even better...

"Perhaps Infiniti can send you designer decaf coffee and fancy shoes with no soles, too - maybe you'd enjoy a tv set with no picture tube or nifty Infiniti designer sunglasses with no lenses :dunno:"

I consider myself a rookie on these boards compared to veterans like AZHITMAN and CAKEDADDY but our collective interest is treating others with respect while we advance the cause of constructive ownership enjoyment of the finest car brand.

Too bad self esteem can't be bought off the shelf.

First of all, I did nothing here on this forum to insult anyone, I didn't even respond to the guy who can't spell Infiniti above.

Second, my text, which you copied and pasted from FA is a partial edit and as such makes no sense - you conveniently forgot to put the original posts by cake and colt which baited me into my retort

Since Cake and Colt and I have mended those fences, your putting this stuff up here can only have one purpose, to keep the drama going........if I were a mod, you'd get a nice little warning.
