After alot of number punching and fitment inquiry, I've came up with the following for a wheel that we will seek to have 5Zigen produce.

FN01R-CHyperblack 17x9 +20 4x114.3

Price: $199 shipped / wheel

The +20 offset was the best offset I could come up with in terms of both front and rear fitment ease. I know alot of people want this and an equal number want that, but I've talked to two S13 owners that expressed that a +20 would fit better than the +15 they currently run. While S14's share 4-lug as well, I had to take the limiting factor into mind.

As for the color choice, we believed it to be the least polar of the choices. After polling a number of people including previous customers the Hyperblack seemed to be the superior choice over Bronze due to it's more neutral look.

Frontal Fitment:

The +20 should allow those running the KTS coilovers to maintain no additional modifications other than a camber adjustment and more than likely a rolling of the fender.

For those running OEM suspension, I do not believe you will have an issue. I base this on 17x9 +30 GTR wheels on an S14 with factory suspension having cleared (barely) without the use of a spacer. An additional 10mm of clearance will be afforded by the offset we have choosen over the GTR wheel.

For those running Tein HA/HE and similar setups, you will need to run a 5mm spacer in the front only. You should NOT need elongated wheel studs.

We will be purchasing 2 additional fender rollers to make 3 fender rollers available for a special renting price for those that purchase the wheels. I would imagine this to be around $20 - 25 shipped for a week of usage. The time frame however may be limited due to availability of the rollers.

Rear Fitment:

You might have to roll the fender and/or run a slight degree of camber to fit certain tires.

See above for our fender roller service special.

I know alot of people kinda wanted a miracle offset to avoid all of the above but frankly it doesn't exist when you are trying to make everything fit. I'm sorry I couldn't deliver such an offset, but I believe that the +20 is the best alternative.

So when can we expect to find out weither or not they will indeed produce the wheel? Also is this available only to SPL or will 5Zigen release it to all their distributors for the short time it will be available?

Also, they already make this wheel in a 17x8 that will fit the 240 right? What's the offset and how does it mount on the front, any issues? How flush?

Anyone planing on runing 9" all around? I'm thinking i'm gonna run 17x8 front and 17x9 rear...anyone else?

This wheel should only be available from SPL. I am supposed to get a call from 5Zigen on Monday.

What kidn of tire size would clear with the 17x9 +20 up front with coilovers? Even with rolled fenders I'm guessing it woudl be hard to get something decently sized on there...or am I wrong? 245/40 would be nice..

I too was wondering what size tire to use, but out back. A 255/40 tire would be pretty flush with the wheel wouldn't it?

235/40/17 is a good fit.

245/40/17 could be had with a good pull.

I'm going to be running a 255/40/17 ... but I don't care about my fenders.

You mean 235 for the 8" wheel, and 255 for the 9"? Cause that's exactly what i was thinking....

Yes, that or you can run that particular tire on a 9" as well.

I definitely don't want to pull my fenders. I would have to see a pic of 235/40 on a 9" wheel to decide if I would want to go that route..seems like it woudl be slightly stretched. I'm still trying to decide if a stagger is worth it or not.

With a proper tool (ie. fender roller) and a heat gun / hair dryer you won't have an issue with pulling the fender. It's not like you are manhandling the fender and just yanking it out... you are simply bowing the edge out slightly.

i run 235/40 on 17x9 +15 (5mm less fender clearance than the wheel currently being offered by splparts) on the front axle of my s14 with no problems. The fender does not have to be pulled to fit this tire size. it SHOULD be rolled but if you really dont want to you dont have to. I can run the same wheel with a 16mm spacer with no rubbing as long as the camber is set up properly. (17x9 -1) you have nothing to worry about. if you want pictures look around in the threads ive posted, but i assure you it is not a big deal, unless you want to run zero camber or somthing wierd like that.

so, I think its safe to say that I can go ahead and buy a pair of 17x8 +35s now and wait til these wider ones to be produced?? I just need some reassurance that these wheels WILL be made so, I don't have a pair of 5zigens sitting in my garage going to waste. Do you have any idea of when these will be done?

I will know for certain on Monday, and I will post the update.

Lead time on the wheels will be 2-3 months for production and shipping.

I'd do that work when the car is stripped.

I'd trade those in for a set of 5mm spacers.

Yeah, need to know if there is anyway to secure a set of these through SPL or something.

So anyone want some brand new 17x8 +35s?
