These are uploaded to our member's rides section as well. To recap, this is a garnet fire 2004 G35 sedan 5A with the JWT Popcharger, Borla cat-back dual exhaust and 17" chrome wheels. These photos were taken today by me at Papago Park in Phoenix (hosted from my own website):

Now you can see those Borlas sticking out:

Better shot of the Borlas:

The JWT popcharger nestled in there like an Alabama tick:

Now if you could just hear her in action. Vroommm! :)

Schweet!

I need to get out there to shoot some pics of my ride...

Now you need a set of headers (hint hint). :D

Talk to me more about those headers. What do they do? How much do they cost? Who will install them? Does it affect my factory warranty in any way?

Thanks Greg. I'm probably tapped out from all of the mods at the moment but Feb. might be doable. :)

A header is a slang term for diving head first.;)

But some ancient car dudes use the term for the exhaust manifold, when it is built out of mandrel bent tubing, rather than cast iron, or otherwise.

Some hypothosize that it actually helps performance of the engine.

Others say it just shortens the life of all the wiring an tubing in the engine bay, because it dissipates more heat in the engine bay.

While still others think they just sound cool.

I think it is just a way to bang up your knuckles and cause you to curse for a few hours, on a Saturday, by adding then to your car.

Hey Don, sweet ride!

I bet that Borla exhaust and JWT intake really make that 3.5 GROWL!

Great pics. How big of a difference in the sound does the borla and jwt make from the stock? The sedans are pretty quite compared to the coupes.

It now is a throaty growl compared to the stock engine. I'm guessing at least 5 to 10 decibels louder and deeper. In fact, I could see where some people would have a problem with it because it almost is too noisy. It took some getting used to for me, coming out of my nearly tomblike Q45.

I am going to take a brief video with my digicam, which can record sound as well as a 320 x 240 video image, while under harsh acceleration. My boss (who owns a Dodge Viper) likes it and said it sounds like a V8. I am not sure how I can put up the video. :)

Don -

To answer a few questions, here you go:

Without the catback, the G35 headers dynoed out at 9-13hp , 13lb/ft increase (stock exhaust). WITH the catback, you're obviously going to achieve less than the sum of the two gains, but I'd estimate 15-22 hp total gains with both.

Don't take my word for it - Ask Joe at Scottsdale. He has the BRM headers and your same catback on a coupe, and has driven it quite a bit.

Installation? Any local shop - not a hard job (I have someone that can do it cheap). Warranty is no more affcted by headers than it is by the JWT and the catback.

That thing will be a coupe killer with the headers, catback and JWT. Look out, Ryan!

I think headers got that name from redirecting exhuast gases at a better flowing angle, or getting them to "head" the right way, or because you put them on heads, hell I don't know why they're called that...

basically they're bigger internally then the manifold and don't flow into a sharper bend like a factory manifold, thus giving less restriction on air flow and allowing the engine to take in more clean air to burn as opposed to exhaust gases that have been compressed and burned. They're not so much a power adder as they are essential for more mods later on that will require free-er flow of the exhaust to reduce the backpressure on the motor and help it from blowing gaskets and the like(I'm half talking out of my ***, but I'm probably around 10% right:D)

This is why I can't run a smaller pulley on my supercharger for fear it'll destroy the already crappy factory head gaskets Ford decided to use...

if you ever wanna see bad exhaust look at the Super Coupe's factory :puke

that's a sweet looking car thoug, I've never seen a sedan with the spoiler, it's neat!

I know I know. I have got to save up a little extra cash. There is a post in the g35 section showing a coupe with 20" Giovanni's. Now, I am even more confused as to what I want to do first. I want it all. I can't be beaten down by a sedan.
