So my M45 is white with graphite interior--took me forever to find one in favorable condition . My only *real* gripe with the interior was that the headliner did not match.

I had it recovered in suede--we used "cinder" and it matches perfectly with the rest of the car. We also used SEM "graphite" to dye all of the trim pieces to match, they were all double cleared (SEM satin) after being dyed. This was a *very* tedious project, but worth it IMO.

Before:

After: the flash makes it appear much lighter, so I tried to take a few pics without it.

Looks good and like you said I'm sure it looks 100 times better in person. Natural lighting with the fact that your headliner never gets direct light makes it alot darker im sure. The craftmanship looks really good too. Looks like it should stand the test of time pretty well.

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you? Did you pay the shop to do it or do you work for the shop in the pics? Also do you have any of that materiel left from your old headliner? I need to redo my pass A pillar and could use a big hunk of the old stuff assuming it wasn't destroyed by the factory glue. Let me know, thanks..................... Ryan

That is awesome, I think about about doing that to my car everytime I am in it. Can I drop my car off with you tonight to do mine?

What kind of time and money are we talking about?

Very, very nice!

I plan on doing the same but with Alcantara and having inserts in the seats as well. Very nice, I thought I was the only one that had this in mind. This is also the only thing the interior needs i thinkD

Thanks guys!

To answer a few questions-- The shop in the pics is mine, but it's a detail shop. The headliner was done an interior/upolstery specialist who does work for us. The cost was about $1000 for material and labor. If you don't want to clear the pieces it would be less. Our headliners, or completing covering our headliners is a very extensive job.

Auditech, I too was going to do Alcantara, but they didn't have a dark enough gray. We could have sourced it from another company, but I couldn't varify the quality. It's only a few hundred more to do the alcantara... How about those taillights? :D

Wow, very nice

The fit and finish is quite excellent

I have been trying to find information on certain modifications like this but my main gripe about my M-45 is that, while the car is quite excellent, Infiniti cheaped out with plastic for the interior door openers

I would LOVE to be able to replace the plastic with brushed aluminum but I haven't been able to find anyone who has either a kit or the ability to change the OEM parts without charging an exorbitant sum

I think that plus the headliner would give the car a much improved sense of value/worth to go along with it's unique styling :D

Very nice workmanship. Personally, I prefer OEM. Maybe the pictures don't capture it well.

Should attenuate the sound somewhat, no?

Looks great. And at $1,000 it's quite a bit less than the factory would charge.

Alcantara would cost more? I wonder why the synthetic stuff is so expensive. Other than the brand, of course.
