This morning I woke up at 7am and drove about an hour and a half to drop off my car at K&N for the final 3.5 intake testing. I spoke to Kirk from K&N and he said after testing with my car and if everything is fine, they will go in production of the intake for the 3.5s and should be completed in 2-3 months. The people were awesome and they gave me a white Dodge Avenger rental car for the days they will be keeping my car. Everything was according to plan and I was on schedule to make it back in time for school. I was on the way to the freeway and a cop was exiting off the off ramp into my lane at the same time (merging lane). I was already going a steady speed and had the right of way so I went ahead of him. The light turned red and I was going to make a right turn to continue my way onto the on ramp. I signaled and completely stopped and yielded to traffic just like any normal right turn at a red light. After traffic was cleared, I made that right turn. The cop was behind me the whole time and pulled me over right before going onto the on ramp. Asked me for my license, registration, etc. He noticed this was not my vehicle and I told him about the reasons why and showed him the K&N rental contract. He ended up giving me a ticket, I thought it was because I "cut" him off during that merging but he ended up giving me a ticket for not yielding to traffic at the red light (21453(b) vehicle code) and his reason was that a woman in a van had to suddenly brake because I decided to turn , there was no such van, traffic was clear after yielding (I was at the light looking onto traffic until all the cars passed), and the cop stayed behind me the whole time (no van was in between us). On the ticket he wrote down the address of the court which is an hour and a half away from where I live but he did not write down a date and time to appear. Now this is just BS and I would admit if I did anything wrong but I didn't. I plan to fight but what are my chances against the word of a man in uniform in court..

well, either way you'll need to wait for your court summons to come in the mail which will tell you how much of a fine it it is. if its a large fine. you can fight it. it may stay on your record but you will most likely get a lesser sentence and only upe as little as 1/3rd of the original fine. hwoever theres a small court fee and of course traffic school to keep itaway from insurance. sounds like some bs to me. mustve spilled his cofeee or something.

So dirty.

That is why when i drive, i get the heck out of cops way. Gotta stay off their radar. I saw a cop on I76 the other day tailing gating a car in semi traffic. Im talkin 3 inches or less from their bumper.

Then i see him slam on his brakes and change from the far left lane to the far right lane and pull over a Subaru with dark tint. LoL

that is BS dude. I am really glad to hear that you dropped off your car. Now they can finally start makeing us these intakes. Yea I would Defenetly fight it. when your summons comes, what untill like 2 days before the court date and extend it for as long as possible. Repeat as many times as you can. Then if the cop actually shows up to court, which I doubt, request to see the video from the on board camera on his cruiser or the camera from the intersection. He must prove that you did commit a violation beyond reasonable doubt.

Most cops schedule all there tickets on one day so they don't haft to go back an forth to the court house. By posponing it to a new date, the police officer no longer schedules it, the court does. If you get lucky and it is the police officers day off, he most likely wont show. Or he may be busy at work and cant make it to court, so your odds are alot better of him not showing up.

whoooohooo on the intake!!!

and that cop must've really missed out on a donut sale!!!

i would recommend you do what infantry says:[QUOTE=Infantry1327]extend it for as long as possible. Repeat as many times as you can.QUOTE]the only problem with that (from experience) the ticket prices usually climb for every extension.

good luck!!

some cop are just haters.

no disrespect to some might be cop on this forum, but sometimes what they do just doesn't make sense.

funny thing is i received a parking ticket parking over night in front my own house where i use to park for the past 8 month.

the ticket was about not showing license plate, unauthorized parking from 3-5am, parking to far away from curve.

not showing license plate is my fault nothing to say about that cuz i have the stillen front, but the other 2 is just total bs.

i've parked at the same spot for over 8 months and i've purchased parking permit and was sticked on my car for a long time not to mention at the time cited. funny thing is out of all the cars that parked in my street with the same permit at the same location, he only gave me the ticket.

and the too far away from curve is just total bs. my car was perfectly located.

my point is, some cops just like to pick on people with cars that looks good.

I am in the process of testing for the sheriffs department right now. But I am going to try and not be one of those a$$hole cops that write tickets for every little thing. But if I pull someone over and they are an ******* or give me attitude, they are fair game. lol

Yes officer....

dont pull a modded A/C over just to ask "hey are those the new ED fenders?" or maybe "JOIN NICO"

Just picked my car up today! That was quick. Took only one day, they tested fitted it and did some minor tweaks. Kirk told me it will now take 6-8 weeks for production, hopefully we get it in time for the December meet .

Some cops are sneaky bastards sometimes. Finally, a 3.5 K&N intake! Maybe an xmas present to myself if its out in December lol.

As for the ticket, if the cop is enough of a douche to give you a stupid ticket like that chances are he isn't showing up to the court date. Show up for the court date, do NOT postpone it as the fee will likely go up. I know it does in NY but it may be different in Cali. Cop won't show up and youll walk away with a summonce.
