FYI I was out for the usuall joyride last weekend when my radar detector made this alien spaceship sound for the first time. Yup it was the big 'L'! Having my detector over a year now, the 'L' has never lit up. Last weekend I was shot twice in two different counties. I'm guessing it's new equipment for our boys in blue. Any thoughts? Any one else notice this?

i forgot the name of the laser dector but those radar dectors that you have will no longer pick up the signal....one chp gun you at like a over path and call in to another to pull you over.....so watch out if your near the 405, 101, 170 and other la counties

This is not exactly true. Marketing for the manufacturer of these states that their guns render radar detectors useless and that is closer to the truth. The laser gun will trigger your radar detector (providing it detects any laser/ lidar) warnings. The problem is, you get no advance warning. The moment your detector goes off is the same moment the officer has accurately clocked your speed and distance. There is only about 1/3 of a second to reduce your speed from when your detector goes off. As far as officers teaming up with guys on an overpasses with the gun and guys waiting on onramps for the chase, that's a pretty normal procedure and is not limited to laser.
