I've been contemplating installing an Escort ZR4 Laser Shifter on my 2010. I have the Escort 9500i detector, but I've been picked off twice with Lidar and by the time the detector goes off, I'm dead meat! Does anyone have a laser shifter or jammer installed? Do they really work or is it smoke an mirrors? I'd hate to lay out $500 with installation only to find out they don't do as advertised. :gotme

The reports I have read are very encouraging. The Porsche Cayman forum, http://www.planet-9.com, has discussed radar/laser detectors and laser jammers extensively. Detectors and laser jammers have been prohibited by a few states. I assume you do not live or drive in one of them.

Also. Look up on google about a product that will attach the zr4 called laser tamers.

Thanks for the info. I'm not quite as savvy with the statistics, I just know from practical experience that the ratio of laser alerts to "K-band" is about 40/60 in my area. Plus I have two citations to remind me. I know the common denominator is to just slow down, but how do you keep these cars at the speed limit. They have a demanding propensity to wanna go, as do I. When there was just k-band, I always had sufficient warnings from my Escorts. Now, our gendarmes are lasing from overpasses and shooting you from the rear. I don't stand a chance. These two tickets exceed the price of a ZR4 system, thus my quest for info on their effectiveness.

look into the "lazer interceptor" from the reviews ive read and video ive seen, its far more effective that the zr system... here in GA there is a good mix of lazer and radar traps... since ive got my V1 ive only goten tickets by police at close range with lazer guns... so a lazer jammer/shifter is on my list... its so hard to cruise at 70mph in a G, just feathering the throttle and you at 80+ and dont be coming down a hill SMH...
