Laser Cruise Control on '07 Sedan

Does anybody know how to disengage this feature?

I think that if you hold the cruise button down for 1.5 seconds, then it engages cruise in 'standard' mode.

When you turn on the cruise control, hold the button down for more than 1.5 seconds. That will disable the "intelligent" cruise control until the next time you have to turn it on. According to the manual, this feature will not work if the sensor is obscured by dirt or ice. If you want to disable it indefinitely, I would think that tape, contact paper or paint would have the same effect.
